This excursion offers the opportunity to skip the long lines (which can take up to two hours!) to enter the Vatican Museums. Please note, all visitors must nevertheless pass through metal detectors at the security check point. Please expect to wait 20-30 minutes to clear security even with skip-the-line tickets.

Itinerary
Here is an overview of the tour - BEST OF ROME - with Skip-The-Line Vatican tickets:
Meet your private driver next to your ship at the Civitavecchia port. Using our new mini-vans, we will whisk you directly to a tiny independent country called the Vatican City (we use mini-vans for an easy access to sites & minimal walking since any other method of travel will mean LONG walks to sites).
The Vatican’s English speaking expert guide will greet you as soon as you arrive at the Vatican City and you will skip-the-line to the Vatican Museums.
The Vatican guide will introduce you to some of the most precious and famous art in the world, as well as the must-visit Sistine Chapel. After the Vatican tour, you will continue to explore Rome with our English speaking driver.
We will drive to Circus Maximus for a spectacular view of Palatine Hill and we will include time for an outside visit of the Colosseum.
Contrary to the general belief, there is much more to see outside the Colosseum (the surroundings are considered an 'open-air museum'!). We will complete the Rome city tour by visiting the most iconic Piazzas of Rome:
St. Peter’s Basilica, Piazza di Spagna (Spanish steps), Piazza Navona, Piazza Venezia and of course no visit to Rome is complete without including Fontana di Trevi (make sure to drop a coin!) & the Pantheon (time permitting).
We will whisk you back to your ship - 100% on time for your departure.

Due to the significant surge in visitors to Rome in the post-Covid era, we now advise against including an inside visit to the Colosseum on this tour. Our experience in 2023 indicates that visiting the inside of the Colosseum could result in valuable tour time lost to queues, even with 'skip-the-line' tickets.
